WHAT I LEARNED IN WEEK 6 (CANVA BLOG)

THE COURSERA PROCESS

WEEK_1

I gained insights into the distinctions between WEB1 and WEB2.

WEB1.00 (read-only web) versus WEB2.0 (read-write web).

  • Users can freely employ Blogs to create and share their narratives on personal blogs.
  • WEB2 tools encompass 8 tasks: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Productivity, Social Networking, Reflection and Feedback, and Presentation.
  • Communication methods include One Way (e.g., Google Sites, Podomatic), Two Ways (e.g., Survey, Blog, Yahoo Mail/Gmail), and Multiple Ways (e.g., Google Hangout, Google Docs, Voice Thread).
  • WEEK_2

  • I delved into the realm of collaborative tools, such as Stormboard, Stumble, Creately, and MeetingWords.
  • The Continuum illustrates three forms of collaborative tasks: Project Management (e.g., Assign-A-Day, Doodle, Todoist), Co-creation (e.g., Google Drive, Mindomo), and Resource Management (e.g., Symbaloo, Dropbox).

WEEK_3

  • Exploration of creativity tools was the focus.
  • The Continuum categorizes creativity into three modes: Word, Visual, and Word and Sound.
  • Word-focused tools encourage creativity with language (e.g., Visuwords, Wordle, Tagxedo), while Visual tools enhance learning through images (e.g., Bookr, Sketchpad, Graffiti Creator). Tools combining Word, Visual, and Sound elements include WeVideo, Alice, and StoryJumper.
  • The Hour of Code emphasizes showcasing the creative aspects of programming.
  • Additional tools introduced: EverNote, Thinglink, Scratch, Etoys, and Voila.
